Today I did a few things that were very different from my every day routines. I woke up really early at 6:30am when I didn’t have to so that I can read and have time for myself. This made my day a lot longer which I love.
I had woken up early yesterday as well to go on a different hike and I really noticed and appreciated how it made my day so much longer but in a good way. The other different thing I did was get out of my comfort zone which I have been forcing myself to get out of more often now.
Any time I now face something I am uncomfortable with I know I am up against an opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and to grow from that experience. I will dive into more detail on that this in a bit.
Everyone has an experience of a long day but not the good kind. I never knew I could have an awesome long day filled with so many great experiences and conversations. All weekend long was filled with great people and beautiful scenery. I felt I was on top of the world.
After reading “What the most successful people do before Breakfast” by Laura Vanderkam I was motivated to plan more weekend filled with fun things to be looking forward to as well as waking up early to get things done and out of the way. This gets my day off to a great start and gives me an immediate boost!
Being outside in the serene forest gave me a sense of calm and at peace. Things in our lives are too often on the go and getting things done as soon as possible and not taking the time to really take precious moments in. Beautiful scenery, immense-full oxygen, the sound of the peaceful river water it was an incredible experience.
It brought back a lot of childhood memories, from the sights to the smells, there was so much to take in and explore. It brought me back to my childhood exploring days and remembering what I used to do and play outside. Not worrying and just living in the moment. I highly recommend you get out sometime this week and explore somewhere new, even if it is just for 15-30 minutes. New senses and scenes will inevitably spark memories or even create new ones that you will cherish for a lifetime.
I was brave and crossed a big tree with a large drop if I were to slip and fall. I didn’t look at where I could end up I only looked at where I wanted to go. One step at a time I ended up on the other side. I focused and pushed myself out of my comfort zone. I was going to chicken out but I didn’t and pushed forward just like I promised myself.
It was worth it and the accomplished feeling was so worth it. Push yourself any chance you get because that is an opportunity and we never know if that opportunity will come back again. Take it! That feeling of fear or discomfort is just a sign that you are about set step into something new that you will learn from and make you stronger!
Made me thing of how taking the daily habits and imbedding successful routines into my day has brought me this far. I have taken one step at a time and have been reading more than ever before. I am going through a growth spurt in my life not in stature but in my self development. One day at a time, step by step. I have already achieved so much and I will continue to grow and learn because I am a student of life and living in abundance. Life is good and taking everything in!
